Well 2010 is about done. This has been an interesting year to say the least. I can’t recall a year that has been filled with so many personal challenges. The state of the US economy has effected a lot of peoples lives including my own. I’ve spent the whole year working on a new business venture, which should be up and running in February 2011. I can’t state with any more emphasis how busy I’ve been with that. This has been a year of sacrifice and priority realignment. I’ve had to make to some difficult decisions, put some people off and let some down. Not cool, not easy, not with out remorse.
I don’t usually post events of my personal life. I don’t tweet or post on Facebook the hourly moments of my world. There’s not much insight for anyone to gather other than my music. Which is kinda rather surprising given how this year has gone. In retrospect the year started off well. Things looked really positive but unfortunately that lasted all but 30 minutes or so into the new year. You can’t image how foul and twisted New Years Eve turned out. Full blown retardedness on an epic scale would best describe it. Oh it was bad, way bad. Truly the prelude of things to come as the year progressed.
There’s nothing harder to do than to push away the one you love. That’s something I really wish wouldn’t have had to go down in 2010. One aspect of myself I wish were better understood is the scope of my reasoning and my confidence in where the road leads. All I can say to that end is some positive things are on the approach and we shall see what 2011 brings.
Aside from that stuff on the music front 2010 saw the conclusion of The Order of Sound Trance Music Program with Edition 71. That program had a pretty dedicated listener base and given all the excitement the first half of the year presented eventually became a bit much to handle at the time. Sadly that’s why that program came to a close. But I do believe the program will return soon., yep yep.
On the mixing front The Order of Sound House Music Program is evolving nicely. I’ve made the transition from mixing on 2 decks to doing it on 4. The complexity of my mixes will continue to progress in 2011. I’ll be adding in some loops, remixing the individual songs, adding fx overlays. Pretty much some stuff I’ve traditionally resisted in doing over the years. My thoughts on are I shouldn’t have to remix someones song just to use it in a mix but it seems though lately more new artist are lacking in applying the proper musical timing structure to their tracks. So I gotta do what I gotta do.
Lastly, coming up in 2011 I’ll be finally adding video content to The Order of Sound website. At first I’ll be doing some product reviews and then later on in the year I’ll get into doing video podcast versions of the radio shows. I’d like to thank all my listeners and radio sites that have supported my work in 2010. And thank you to everyone who has had to put up with me for your patience over the past year. Have a great 2011.
